Breast / Nipple Asymmetry Correction
Breast asymmetry refers to a meaningful difference in the size, shape, or position of the breasts, areolae, or nipples. While some degree of natural asymmetry is very common, it is when the difference becomes significant — affecting appearance, confidence, or the fit of clothing — that surgical correction may be appropriate.

Dr. Adibfar will examine size, shape, skin quality, and nipple and areola placement to determine the most appropriate approach. The procedure may address one or both breasts and can involve a reduction, augmentation, lift, or a combination of techniques to achieve the best possible symmetry in size, shape, and position. Following correction, bras and clothing will fit more comfortably, and any future changes due to aging or gravity will affect both breasts more evenly.
Recovery Timeline
Recovery varies from patient to patient, but the following timeline provides a general guideline:
- First 48–72 hours: Swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort are expected. A surgical dressing is worn and activity is limited.
- Week 1: Swelling typically settles considerably. Dissolvable sutures are used, so no removal appointment is needed. Light activity may be resumed and the surgical bra continues to be worn at all times.
- Weeks 1–4: Most patients return to normal activities as comfort improves. The surgical bra is worn throughout this period, after which Dr. Adibfar will assess whether continued use is necessary based on each patient’s healing progress.
- Weeks 3–6: Swelling continues to resolve and the corrected breast contours become increasingly apparent. Vigorous activity may be reintroduced once cleared by Dr. Adibfar.
- 3–6 months: Final results are fully visible as all swelling has resolved and the tissue has settled into its new shape.
