This procedure can often be done as a day surgery, allowing you to return home the same day. Risks such as bleeding or infection are rare. Temporary numbness of the chin or lower lip may occur but usually resolves over time.
Most patients return to normal activities within 1–2 weeks. Swelling begins to subside after the first week and continues to improve over 4–6 weeks. Final results are permanent.
